Encapsulate launches its technology to the International Space Station

On 03/21/2024

Yesterday marked a pivotal moment as we witnessed the launch of our cargo destined for the International Space Station, advancing our mission in cancer therapy.

On Thursday, March 21 at 4:55 p.m. ET, Falcon 9 launched Dragon’s CRS-30 to the International Space Station National Laboratory from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, carrying with it our cargo of cancer patients’ samples and our technology, now en route to the International Space Station.

Space exploration transcends venturing into the unknown; it embodies our commitment to innovation in confronting humanity’s most daunting challenges, including cancer.

At the heart of our mission lies the pursuit to understand the effects of microgravity on cancer. The insights we gain from this mission have the potential to revolutionize our understanding of this complex disease, in ways previously unexplored, and significantly impact treatment processes on Earth, opening doors to limitless possibilities.

There are countless individuals and organizations who have supported us, from MassChallenge Boston where it all began, to esteemed partners, including the International Space Station National Laboratory, Boeing, Space Tango, NASA – National Aeronautics and Space Administration, SpaceX, and the University of Connecticut.

Our deepest appreciation goes to the individuals who have lent their support and expertise to our work over the years: Jennifer Read, GMPro™ QAPro™, John Catechis, Joel Levine, Bret Schipper, MD, FACS, CPE, Rawad Elias, Sven Eenmaa, Nicole Wagner, Ph.D., Scott Copeland, Kevin D. Foley, Rachel Clemens, PhD, Davide Marotta, Ph.D., and in loving memory of Etop Esen whose initial encouragement inspired our pursuit.

We must recognize the tireless efforts of our team and Space Tango, including, Taylor Stallings-Pinnick, Kendall Nelson, Mark Reeves, Zach Jacobs, Twyman Clements, Alain Berinstain, Benjamin Lumpp, Isabel Moore, Paul Gamble, PMP, Trevor Nienaber, Shelby Giza, and Anne Currin.
